Mesa Grill- New York, NY

After my interview with Madison Square Garden, we went to Bobby Flay’s restaurant to grab lunch. My brother was hoping that he would be able to meet the famous Bobby Flay. Not our luck today!

Our waiter was extremely friendly, and I was very satisfied with the service we received.

Restaurant week everywhere. For 24 dollars, we were able to get a 3-courses lunch.

The Corn-bread? Um, I must say that Delta’s cornbread win. But Bobby’s corn break looks more interesting and exciting.

Ah, Salmon Tar-tar. This is the best dish that I ate today. It is a little spicy, with the pastry bread. The textures flow perfectly together.

Again, I still do not find main course being extremely exciting. But it was still good. Maybe I am just not that into “grilled food”.

The desert was not bad, but not great.
Overall, my experience at Mesa Grill is very positive. Is it because of the atmosphere?

Frog and the Peach- New Brunswick, NJ

Oh, Frog and the Peach. A restaurant that I’ve been wanting to go.
Thanks for New Brunswick’s Restaurant Week, I was able to enjoy their fresh, local food of art with a low budget.

My good friend and I walked in the storm and arrived at the Frog and the Peach with damp hair, not the most pleasant way to start our lunch.

I really enjoyed their appetizer. The balsamic really add a kick in the end, not to mention that their bread tasted so fresh and yummy with their special spread.  I am not so sure what that spread is, is it scallion butter? Or scallion cream cheese? I will find out for you guys next time I go.

The main course was alright, nothing TOO exciting. But it was still good and pleasant to look at.

Ah, dessert. Coconut Flan.

The display was just beautiful. The flan itself was creamy, coconutty, and just amazing. I wanted to lick my whole plate clean.

Definitely a go-back place for me. I don’t care if I will need to eat PB&J for weekdays. I will save money just to go back there again.

Delta's

This will be a short review for Delta’s, a place that reveals good, old Southern Hospitality.
My program coordinator took us to Delta’s and hoping we can take a break from our research paper. And boy, I’m glad she did.

Their corn bread was amazing. My table was able to finish 3 baskets.
I ordered the oxtail. It was delish. But I wish I could try their alligator meat. How exciting would that be?

I apologize for the bad picture, it was quit dark in there.

The band was playing, and it was a great night.
